2020 has not been the year of love for a good few Mzansi couples. Break-ups started happening from the minute the clock struck midnight on the first of January.
Being in a relationship ain’t easy, especially when your every move is watched, judged and torn apart in the media.
Briefly.co.za has seen some of Mzansi’s favourite celeb couples, from LootLove and Reason to DJ Zinhle and AKA, fall apart this year.
Unfortunately, infidelity seems like the biggest contributor to relationship woes, especially when it comes to celebrities who spend a lot of time apart.
The general public can only imagine how tough it must be for celebrities to put off all the negative comments and false stories in order to keep their relationships together – it ain’t child’s play.
As fans, we get heavily invested in our celeb couples’ lives, so when things go south we feel it too.
Taking a look back on the mess that 2020 has been in regards to the celeb love department, we acknowledge the celeb love that has been lost already:
DJ Zinhle and AKA
South Africa’s favourite couple split. DJ Zinhle and AKA ended their relationship which they had rekindled less than a year before.
LootLove and Reason
Lootlove and Reason haven’t been seen together in public for months and Mzansi has been stressing. Their relationship is over.
Lerato Kganyago and Thami Ndlala
Lerato Kganyago might just have set the record for shortest celeb marriage. The beautiful radio personality announced that she and hubby of two months, Thami Ndlala, have separated.
Thando Thabethe and Lunga Shabalala
It’s apparent that Thando Thabethe and Lunga Shabalala are over. Thando has quickly moved on to a new man, Jaji Albortore.
Zodwa WaBantu and Vusi Buthelezi
There’s trouble in paradise for Zodwa Wabantu and her boyfriend, Vusi. The star said Vusi had left and she was not sure if he was coming back. It appears that this break apart has led to a permanent break-up.
