2018, has so far been a very busy year for most African musicians, rappers inclusive! I stumbled upon many blog posts, and Youtube Videos rating African Rappers.
Promo Promo Promo :
I found most of the ratings biased, uninformed and focused on established rappers. It became necessary for me to do a proper, examined, honest and more inclusive rating.
To make my ratings genuine, I sampled the Opinions of fans of the rap genre across Africa. On the 17 of June 2018, I made a grid with pictures of my 10 most followed rappers in Africa.
Posted the grid on Iyunade Blog’s official Facebook page with the following caption:
10 rappers, one crown! Choose wisely: Who’s your best rapper in Africa?
We boosted the post! The post reached 36,911 people. It was liked by 5200 people and had a total of 567 comments.
Kaligraph Jones, AKA, Casper, Manifest, Modenine, proVerb, L-Tido, Tumi, Shukid, and many other rappers whose pictures were not grided; were mentioned by their respective fans in the comment section as the best.
I did a research on the rappers. Given the rap prowess and skills of the rappers, my job became even more difficult. They are all super talented!
I finally decided to do a rating of African best rappers of 2018 only. My rating is based on the following:
