Daphne Took The Crown: Full List Of AFRIMA 2018 Winners

Daphne Njie was named as one the AFRIMA 2018 winners. The competition for the Africa Music Awards 2018 was highly contested by Cameroon’s nominees in the Best Female Artiste Central Africa category. You had Blanche Baily in “BonBon”, Charlotte Dipanda ft Yemi Alade in Sista”, Shura “Allez Dire” and Daphne in Jusqu’a La Gare”. Contestants from other countries included Amanda Malela (Democratic Republic of Congo) in “Kumama”, Anabela Aya (Angola) in “I Love You Bue”, Bruna Tatiana (Angola) in “Amo-te” and Iyenga (Democratic Republic of Congo) in “Sorry”.

At the end, Daphne emerged winner for the Best Female Central Africa Category with her song “Jusqu’à La Gare”. Fally Ipupa from the Democratic Republic of Congo won the Best Male Artiste Central Africa with his song “Mannequin” featuring Keback and Naz.

Overall, Davido who just retained the trophy for the Male Artist of Year at the NEA Awards 2018 on Saturday, November 10th 2018 in Washington, DC came out as the greatest among the AFRIMA 2018 winners. He won Artiste of the Year at this year’s AFRIMA Awards and the Best Male Artiste Western Africa while Tiwa Savage, a fellow Nigerian took the Best Female Artiste Western Africa. It should be noted that Tiwa Savage was also crowned Female Artiste of the Year at the NEA 2018 Awards.

Bebe Cool of Uganda added his name among the AFRIMA 2018 winners as he emerged the Best Male Artiste in Eastern Africa with his song Freedom”. This is coming after fans of Eddy Kenzo attacked him for garnering votes for Bebe Cool who devalued Kenzo’s music awards and described his success as half-baked.

Daphne was the only contestant from Cameroon who emerged in the list of AFRIMA 2018 Winners as she came back home with a trophy. Cameroon was represented by 14 artistes and 1 group in a total of 27 nominations in various categories. They included Daphne Njie, Blanche Bailly, Charlotte Dipanda, Shura, Salatiel, Locko, Magasco, Chick Nick, Rythmz, DJ Zoumanto, Stephane Akam, Prosper Menko, Wazih, and Ko-C.
