Davido ‘s Biography
Fela Anikulapo Kuti, also professionally known as Fela Kuti, is the father of Afrobeat! There’s no way we can talk about Afrobeat without mentioning the name ‘Fela’. If he were to be alive today, he would be so proud just by how much his creation has influenced the lives of many Africans; including Davido.
Davido is a multi-award winning Nigerian superstar, making his name on the default template of Afrobeat designed by Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
Davido was born on the 21st of November 1992 to Mr and Mrs Adedeji Adeleke, in Atlanta GA, the USA. He started his education in British International School in Lagos Nigeria, from where he moved to Oakwood University to study business administration.
Davido ‘s Music Career Influencers.
David Adedeji Adeleke who has morphed into a fine Afro-Pop Singer, Song Writer, and music producer was influenced musically by the following Nigerian artists: Don Jazzy, 2 Face Idibia, Sound Sultan and Wande Coal.
While Davido was pursuing his degree in the Oakwood University, his passion for music was deepened! He joined the KB international band, and he also met an American kid named Jaymo! Jaymo who happened to be Davido’s then neighbour in the US influenced him with his heavy music by constantly rattling Davido’s ceiling.
Davido ‘s Musical Journey.
Davido started by buying some musical instruments with which he learned how to make beats and vocal references. He dropped out of Oakwood University when he started getting bad grades and relocated to London, where he focused more of his energy towards vocals as opposed to production.
While in London, Davido spent most of his time making beats and vocal references which he sent to his cousin in Lagos, a fellow musician with a trove of industry contacts.
It had been written in his book of destiny, foretold and whispered by the birds that sometime in 2011, Davido will book his place in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Little did many knows, he will have most of the spotlight beaming at him. When he relocated to Nigeria in 2011, he released his first single on the 19th of May, “Back When” as one of the songs that featured in his debut album titled “Omo Baba Olowo”.
“Back When” was a major hit song and much credited for the fact that the song was recorded when he was in London. Still, in 2011, Davido didn’t relent his effort, he quickly leveraged the buzz generated by his first single by realising yet another banger, “Dami Duro”.
Davido ‘s Second Studio Album.
Davido recorded his second studio album in 2013. The Album included songs like Gobe, Aye, and Skelewu. They were all commercial songs with Skelewu as the most Viral of them all because of its unique dance steps.
Between 2013 and 2015, he released the singles “Gobe”, “One of a Kind”, “Skelewu”, “Aye”, “Tchelete (Goodlife)”, “Naughty”, “Owo Ni Koko”, “The Sound” and “The Money”. The aforementioned singles were reportedly intended to be singles off the album, ‘The Baddest’.
Davido and Sony Music
in January 2016, the singer announced via Twitter that he had signed a record deal with Sony Music. His announcement was met with mixed reactions which prompted his record label to put out a press release to confirm the deal. Few months after signing with Sony, the singer created a music label which he calls DMW (Davido Music Worldwide).
DMV houses other top Nigerian music artistes like Mayorkun, Dremo, Peruzzi, Yonda, Dj Ecool. The label also houses music producers like Fresh Vdm, Speroach Beatz. In July 2016, he again signed a record deal with Sony’s RCA Record

Davido in the Illuminati
A school of thought holds it that every successful musician is involved in one or two cults, notably the Illuminati! A lot of people argue that Illuminati is the biggest racist party on earth, and there’s absolutely no way they will admit a black person into its membership circle.
Another set of people say the Illuminati uses black people for its entertainment purposes and equally as mediums to channel subliminal messages through the music videos produced by black celebrities. Celebrities like Jay Z, Beyonce, Rihanna and many others have been rumoured to be involved in this diabolic worship of the devil.
Some people even say these celebrities sell their souls to the devil in exchange for fame and money! In the past, the signs and symbolism of cults like the Illuminati and Freemasons were not public, as only their innate members could interpret the signs. Today it’s quite different!
Any musician found flaunting any occultic sign and symbolism in their video is immediately assumed to be in the cult. This is the case of Davido who in the video of ‘IF’, wore a jacket depicting images of the all-seeing eye of Horus, the pyramid and many other signs.
