Great news!!! Well, this news is great for Africans who are looking for how to leave their countries and become citizens of Italy. Just a week ago, a stunning Sicilian town announced that it was selling its homes for just 1 euro ($1.14).

Does selling a house for $1 sound low for you?

Well, the city of Locana in northern Italy has got a better offer and is offering people 9,000 euros to move there. That’s a whopping sum of $10,200 just to pack up your bags and go stay in a free house.

Various parts of Italy especially the rural towns are hoping their financial rewards will be able to lure new residents to its towns to repopulate their deserted houses, shops, and restaurants.

Our population has shrunk from 7,000 residents in the early 1900s to barely 1,500 as people left looking for a job at Turin’s big factories,” Locana’s mayor Giovanni Bruno Mattiet told CNN Travel. “Our school each year faces the risk of shutting down due to few pupils. I can’t allow this to happen.”

You don’t have to renovate any property in Locana, you just have to have a kid and a salary of at least 6,00 euros.  Over the years they have been at least 40 deaths each year in Locana compared to 10 births. The town is looking to draw mostly young people and professionals who work remotely or are willing to startup businesses there. There are dozens of closed bars, shops, boutiques, and restaurants just waiting for people to run them.

Borgomezzavalle – Another small town located near the Swiss border who has just 320 people are not just selling their homes for 1Euros but also offering money to anyone who wants to start a business there. They have got tons of money to invest but they need kids and youths.
