A few days ago, there was a stir of outrage on social media and many people were fighting for and against the practice of Yahoo boys. Naira Marley, a UK-based Nigerian singer took the discussion a bit further by declaring that the African man slavery is a supposed validation for internet fraudsters.
He also backed up his claim with the fact that there are bigger national problems which are caused by the government. Therefore, he thinks the crimes of the yahoo boys are legit and doesn’t need criticism from the black community.
The internet has still not settled in the aftermath of his moments of dynamic madness. Interestingly, he also had ample support from his fellow artists like Davido (supposedly “phoneless” for one month), Oladips, Zlatan Ibile and so forth.
Because the conversation became so viral, the braided ‘Japa’ crooner has seemingly decided to capitalize on the issue by releasing a song explicitly titled, ‘Am I a Yahoo Boy?’
The single is set to feature his supporter and troll, Zlatan Ibile. While the song itself is not out, a viral video of the recording session with Zlatan and Naira Marley is out.
