The American rapper, songwriter, singer, model and actress, Onika Tanya Maraj, professionally known as Nicki Minaj is getting close to breaking the record for huge sales for a female rapper. The rapper who in August 2018 released her fourth studio album Queen, featuring Lil Wayne, Eminem, Ariana Grande, Future and Weeknd has sold more than 99 million units presently. The figure includes singles, albums, and features. This was certified by the Recording Industry Association of America, RIAA on Twitter:

@NICKIMINAJ now has 99 million RIAA certified units across albums, singles and features. She’s expected to be the first female rapper to hit 100 million units.”

These big numbers are a proof that the rap superstar, Nicki Minaj is keeping up her game to justify her being the Queen.

Nicki Minaj had a successful 2018 and it seems she does not want to rely on her laurels. Her 2018 album Queen was a commercial success, her radio show, Queen Radio, on Beats1 was launched. In addition to her successful music career, Nicki Minaj’s voice will be featuring in Angry Birds 2 movie.

It should be remembered she threw shots at Spotify and Travis Scott after her latest album Queen did not make it at the top spot in the US charts. This came after Queen was put on second place with 185,000 units sales behind Travis’ Astroworld which was at 205,000 copies. Her reason was that Scott achieved that top spot by selling Season Passes which gave fans who purchase Astroworld pre-sale access to his live shows.

She had this to say on Twitter:

“Travis sold over 50K of these. With no requirement of redeeming the album! With no dates for a tour, etc. I spoke to him. He knows he doesn’t have the #1 album this week. I love my fans for the #1 album in AMERICA!”
