Some few months back, 23-year-old reggae singer-songwriter, Skip Marley announced the release of his song Slow Down with Grammy award-winning American artiste H.E.R.

The song set a number of records, stamping Skip’s name as a force to be reckoned with. The single became the fastest streaming song in the Marley (music) Family history with over 46 million streams on all platforms in less than 5 months and has crossed the 20 million mark on YouTube.

With Slow Down, Skip also became the first Jamaican-born singer to reach No 1 on the Billboard RnB adult chart. The massive success of the track arrives with Jamaica’s 75th-anniversary celebration of the life and time of iconic music legend Bob Marley, Skip’s grandfather.

Despite the huge success of the single, Skip Marley isn’t slowing down one bit.

Last month he released a remix of the song with American rapper Wale.

And when we thought that was all, on May 22, Skip decided to bless us with an African remix.

He tapped into the rich culture of Afro-Beat by employing the services of the award-winning Davido and fast-rising vocalist Oxlade.

The most recent remix is a smooth and melodious blend of different genres of music. P2J produced a nesh Afrobeat to the original Reggae/RnB record.

We didn’t know we needed the unique blend of African sounds gently colliding with smooth RnB and reggae melodies until ‘Slow Down’ remix happened.

The added verses from Oxlade and Davido were the perfect touch the song needed to further instill the Afro-Pop sound into the record.

Davido started the song with an exerting performance that made an instant impact on the ears, Oxlade ended the song with his dreamy voice proudly showing off his vocal dexterity. The song is a masterpiece. Imagine the kind of vibe you’ll get from a reggae, dancehall, afro-pop and afro-beat jam, that is exactly the magic you will feel when listening to this remix. This is one of the smoothest love song right now, I strongly recommend it.
