Ugandan Afro pop music star, Edrisa Musuuza who goes by his stage name Eddy Kenzo maybe working on a new project with Congolese musician and former Viva la Musica drummer Awilo Longomba.
This comes after pictures went viral online showing the Coupe Bibamba star with Uganda’s star best known for his Sitya Loss 2014 song. Eddy Kenzo who was nominated for Sierra Leone Entertainment Awards (SLEA) where he will be competing with other African stars also announced his ten year musical anniversary and experience that will take place at the Serena Hotel.
He will be competing in the same category as Africa Best Artiste with Nigeria’s Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Davido, Olamide, Tekno and Flavour, Ghana’s Sarkodie, Stone Bwoy, South Africa’s Casper Nyovest and Sierra Leone’s Nega Don.
In a recent online brawl, Eddy Kenzo was attacked by his fans for giving support to his fellow compatriot and AFRIMA nominee, Bebe cool, when he asked his fans to vote for him in the Africa Music Awards that will be taking place in Accra Ghana on 21-24 November 2018. Eddy Kenzo fans have not been happy with rival singer Big Size Bebe Cool since he described Kenzo’s success as half-baked as well devaluing his music awards.
Eddy Enzo in a post on social media said “Vote for Bebe cool in afrima guys!! Tuyina okwegata mumbera nga eno bweti Team Uganda let’s do this for our country. Vote vote vote. Together we can.”
Bebe Cool represents Uganda in the Best Male Artiste Eastern Africa for his song ‘Freedom’. He will be competing with Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, Rayvzony and Harmonize, Kenya’s Kagwe, Mungai and Nyashinsk and Ethiopia’s Yamiu Mola.
Fans are patiently waiting for what will come out in Kenzo’s project with the Kafou Kafou musician, Awilo Longomba. It should be noted that Awilo was also drummer of Stukas, Loketo and Nouvelle Generation until 1995 when he quited for singing, releasing his first album Moto Pamba. Coupe Bibamba, his second CD in 1998 made him very popular across Africa, America and Europe. Awilo Longomba now lives in the United Kingdom with his wife Paradis Kacharelle and son Lovy Believe Church Awilo Longomba.
